Josh Hutcherson was honored with the Young Humanitarian Award for his work with Straight But Not Narrow, an LGBT ally organization for straight youth and young adults, at last night's Unite4Humanity event in Los Angeles.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson was on hand to present the award to Josh at the Variety and unite4:good sponsored event, who said in his acceptance speech, “Everyone else’s existence is just as important as your own.” He continued to win over the room, sharing the mission of SBNN. “We’re helping illuminate the fact that we’re all in this world together…going through a lot of the same s--t,” he said, quickly correcting himself through the audience’s laughter: “Stuff!”
According to Variety, he ended with a witty, yet powerful quote: “Whether you’re L, G, B, T or Q, the most important letter to be is U.”
Here are some additional snaps from the festivities:
Looks like Josh and Catching Fire costume designer Trish Summerville had a mini-reunion at the event.
Congrats, Josh! You have much to celebrate!
