'Mockingjay Part 2' Panel At Comic Con 2015

Mockingjay Part 2 invaded Comic Con 2015 with a much-anticipated final panel of The Hunger Games franchise on Thursday, July 9th. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Willow Shields, Francis Lawrence and Nina Jacobson took to Hall H to share some behind the scenes stories and in-depth discussion of Mockingjay Part 2 in a panel moderated by Conan O'Brien.

The full panel is below:

If you don't have time to watch the entire thing, here's a recap:

The presentation opened with white-suited drummers and the new Mockingjay Part 2 propo clip, "Stand With Us." A new Mockingjay Part 2 trailer was also shown. We won't get a look at that until later this month, but CinemaBlend has a full description if you can't wait that long! Spoilers abound, obviously!

"Tonight, turn your weapons to the Capitol. Tonight, turn your weapons to Snow!"

Jennifer Lawrence's favorite moment as Katniss from the franchise (after struggling a bit) "I volunteer as tribute." Eventually, she said her favorite moment is from Mockingjay Part 2 and didn't want to give the audience a spoiler.

Josh Hutcherson called Peeta's return in MJ2 "a long road to recovery."

Liam talked about great scene between Gale and Peeta that Jennifer was asleep for (think Tigriss' shop), and said "we have an emotional scene together and there might be a kiss between Josh and I." “He said no spoilers, man!” Josh replies. LOL.

About the last day of filming the franchise, Jennifer repeated what she has said about the emotional day in past interviews, "There’s no way of saying this that doesn’t start rumors, but that night we held each other and slept like puppies.”

Jennifer when Conan called her bow a crossbow: “First of all, it’s not a crossbow, it’s a longbow, crossbows are easy. I’m sorry, but all you have to do is pull a trigger. I didn’t spend months and months training so I could be called a crossbow-er.

Liam Hemsworth said every time he tries to do the Mockingjay whistle it sounds like the X-Files theme. (Josh agrees). The cast attempted it together. Josh also did his infamous crickets.

Jen let out a big toast baby spoiler about the epilogue - confirming what we kind of already knew. YAY!!! I'm not spoiling it here but you can probably guess.

Liam gave Gale some real-life love advice. "It's all right, mate. Plenty of fish in the sea."

When asked what Josh will miss most about the franchise, he points down the table.."You're lookin' at 'em. The cast starts to dramatically comfort him and Liam adds, "He's a sweet, sweet angel."

“Anyone who loves the end of the book will love the end of the movie,” says director Francis Lawrence. Only doubly confirming our faith in Francis, Nina and the team's adaptation.

Conan was about to close the panel but Jen insisted on letting one more girl ask a question because, "Oh come on she's in the full blown Katniss outfit!"

On saying goodbye to Katniss forever, Jennifer said, “I don’t really feel like it’s happened yet. It’s such a huge part of my life. These movies really did change my life.

“The people in my life are still...“ she turned to Josh and Liam. “You guys challenged me. And I love you. I think the changes that happened in my life from doing this movies are so permanent, I don’t think I’ll ever truly say goodbye to her. It’s a part of me.

There was so much more, and we'll be updating this post with a full video as soon as one becomes available.

The panel closed out with another showing of the new Mockingjay Part 2 trailer, and then the cast moved on to a press conference and interviews.

New 'Mockingjay Part 2' Official Poster & Motion Poster Propo Debut

Today has been a big, big, big day and it's not even 1:00pm EST! The Hunger Games debuted an official Snapchat account (username: mockingjaypt2) and they kicked it off with a bang! A series of 14 location-based new filters were added last night. As you can see, I'm in D13:

And a short propo featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss in her infamous RED Mockingjay suit was posted to the account today:

If that wasn't enough for you, Lionsgate's Tim Palen teased an official new Mockingjay Part 2 poster to his instagram, that was eventually posted on The Capitol.PN as the rebels "took over" once again! See the full poster at the top of this post.

Still not enough Mockingjay Part 2 for you? Well, TOMORROW we can expect a special message from District 13 to debut at the new and fully-launched Revolution.PN (possibly the entire propo that goes along with our motion poster?). The site is NOW LIVE and it's beautiful! Be sure to check it out!

Revolution.PN has posted a few goodies today, including higher-res versions of those awesome "Faces of the Revolution" posters . They've been renamed "Pillars of Panem" on the site and they've also added descriptions to each image, driving home their importance for the rebel cause. Click around the interactive 3D monument wall and it will reveal the names, then click for the image and description.

All this and the Mockingjay Part 2 panel at Comic Con tomorrow! Stay tuned, tributes.

New "Faces of The Revolution" Mockingjay Part 2 Character Posters Are Here!

Never before have I felt so compelled to paint my face. Check out the EPIC new "Faces of The Revolution" Mockingjay Part 2 character posters and then excuse me while I go paint a big Mockingjay on my face with red lipstick..

Katniss Everdeen

She is the rudder of our ship, the shepherd of our flock, our light in the darkness. A vision of strength and vitality, Katniss Everdeen is the symbol of hope that will lead us into the new Panem. She is the spark that lights this Revolution. She is the one that unites us all. She is the Mockingjay.

Peeta Mellark

We honor Peeta Mellark, as he stands for the enrichment of the body and soul of Panem. No stranger to sacrifice, the Baker’s son has never ceased to give even when he had none. So must we look to him as we build our communities and learn to thrive together.

Prim Everdeen

Synonymous with compassion and caregiving is the beloved Primrose Everdeen, sister of the Mockingjay. Not only does she possess the ability to heal our wounded and the kindness of heart to do so, she proves that patience and understanding are virtues we must all strive for. When we feel selfish, may we look to her for inspiration.

Gale Hawthorne

Strategic thinking is our greatest defense against a surmounting threat. In Gale Hawthorne, we see a compassionate guardian, one who will safeguard the freedoms we stand for. Protection is what District 13 prides itself on, and something we must all honor as we march toward our brighter future.

Finnick Odair

To members of the Revolution, Finnick Odair is a symbol of the love that binds us all. True love takes many forms; it has the power to motivate and the ability to unite. Finnick reminds us to keep our hearts open, so we may fill them with a reason to keep going.

Johanna Mason

Strength, determination and vigor. As we look forward to the next chapter in Panem, we look to those equipped with the will to make it great. We salute, Johanna Mason, for her strong will, purposeful defiance and for never failing to stand up for what she believes in.

Cressida

We salute the visionary Cressida, for her unwavering dedication to the truth. Her commitment to capturing the world around us allows us to bear witness to the horrors we all face. We must seek the truth wherever we can, and in doing so become more honest and true.

Boggs

As we combat the forces against us, we must remember we are fighting for something larger than ourselves and our own lives. Boggs reminds us of the honor in the fight, the principles that fuel us and the loyalty that will define us. Here’s to Boggs, a true Pillar of the new Panem.

New 'Mockingjay Part 2' Stills Feature Katniss in The Capitol

Two new Mockingjay Part 2 stills have hit the web featuring Katniss in the Capitol.  In the first image, Katniss stands with Effie, getting ready to make that long walk to do you-know-what that we saw in the teaser trailer. This image is also in the Comic Con premivew issue of Entertainment Weekly.

The second still shows us Squad 451 working their way through the Capitol, with Boggs holding the holo and another big you-know-what is almost certainly about to happen here. (And if you don't know what, I'm not going to spoil it for you!)

Huge thanks to QuarterQuell.org for the HQ images!

'Mockingjay Part 2' Featured in the Comic-Con Preview Issue of EW

New "first-look" images from Mockingjay Part 2 are featured in the Comic Con Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly. The July10/17 double issue is out on stands tomorrow. We'll update this post with more images as they are released.

Of the final installment director Francis Lawrence gives much credit to author Suzanne Collins “There is some serious girl power in this movie. She wrote it that way, and it’s been so much fun to inhabit.”

“It’s probably the most emotional of the bunch,” he says. “And I think it’s the most satisfying of the bunch.”

The Hunger Games Exhibition Mobile Guide Now Available in the App Store

The Hunger Games: The Exhibition Mobile Guide is now available for $3.99 in the app store for iOS

The Hunger Games: The Exhibition Mobile Guide is the official mobile companion to The Hunger Games: The Exhibition, opening TODAY July 1 at Discovery Times Square in New York City. When you visit the Exhibition, this optional mobile guide adds additional information to the self-guided tour. It's like having a real Panem historian take you through the history of Panem. You use the guide within the exhibition to track your journey with a digital Panem Passport, gaining stamps as you travel among the Districts and complete interactive tasks. Along the way, you can capture and share your own souvenir photos in places like the Tribute Train, the interview set of Capitol TV and District 13. You can discover and unlock bonus hidden content in the mobile companion, including media recovered from the Capitol’s surveillance cameras and from District 13’s digital storage units. The mobile guide is $7.00 at the exhibition or free with a VIP ticket.

Even if you don't plan on seeing the exhibition, the app is a treat for tributes as it has in-depth audio on everything from the districts to the history of The Hunger Games.

Please note: there are only a few shots of the actual exhibit on the app. You won't be able to view all the exhibition galleries within the app - just a couple of shots from inside as spotlights. But there are some cool stills within the app that I've never seen released before:

From the app store description:

The Hunger Games Exhibition celebrates the blockbuster The Hunger Games franchise and Katniss’s epic journey like never before. This dynamic exploration of the art, science, pageantry and history of the world of Panem features iconic costumes, props, and set recreations that highlight the technological wizardry and amazing artistry that brought this world to life. Visit the exhibition in person to see high-tech, hands-on interactives that let you dive into exciting behind-the-scenes content, engage deeply with the world of the films, and discover a whole new side of the stories that took the world by storm.
Our thanks to QuarterQuell.org for finding it first!
