With the interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA in place, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes cast can finally start promoting the film. Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, and Josh Andrés Rivera began right away, posting new character posters to their Instagrams last night.  I would expect the other characters to follow very soon!

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES Gets SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has received an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA, which means that cast, including Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Josh Andres Rivera, Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis, Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage, and all of our amazing tributes, mentors, and supporting players are allowed to promote the film!

According to Variety, it’s unclear why the agreement was granted so close to the film’s release date. But the late-breaking boost in publicity could be a massive help in getting people to the theater on November 17th. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes cost $100 million to produce.

To get an interim agreement, producers must operate independently from companies belonging to the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and agree to terms proposed by the guild in its negotiations. Since Lionsgate is not part of the AMPTP, its theatrical releases are eligible.

With the interim agreement in place, the cast is expected to attend the film’s premieres in Berlin and London, as well as a fan event in Los Angeles. Beyond press opportunities, the ensemble is free to postabout the prequel on social media.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is in theaters and IMAX November 17th.
