'Mockingjay Part 2' Director Francis Lawrence talks Epilogue, Deleted Scenes, Comic-Con

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 director Francis Lawrence sat down with Steven Weintraub from Collider.com at CinemaCon last night, and revealed some of the most interesting Mockingjay Part 2 information we've heard YET! Thanks Collider for asking such great questions (and for listening to the tributes on twitter!).

Take a look:

Among the juicy nuggets of information on MJ2:

They are in post, the cut of the film is basically done. First cut was 2 hrs 50 min, now its 2 hrs 7 min without credits and epilogue.

There are very few deleted scenes, they used almost everything they shot.

They'll shoot the Epilogue in late May, it will be a few minutes long. (they heard your twitter questions)

Francis hears your demands for a trailer on twitter but wants you all to "practice patience" about it. "The last movie just came out in November, and left theatres in March or April or something. It’s crazy… they’ll get it." It is "nice to want."

Movie will be complete ("done, done") in September

Francis says they're going to Comic Con with some cast, but cast TBD.

Tim Palen has some cool stuff planned for marketing teaser-wise.

Francis Lawrence will be at The Hunger Games Exhibition grand opening in New York on July 1st.

Time to get excited, tributes!! Excited and patient!?!?!?

Francis also talked about Mockingjay Part 2 with Josh Horowitz from MTV News at Cinema Con:

Francis had this to say about working with Jennifer Lawrence:

Francis also spoke about Jennifer Lawrence in the press room at the Awards. He was asked about how she's changed and said:

I don’t think she’s really changed. I’ve been working on these films for 3 ½ years now and she’s really wonderful. She’s an extremely talented person and very warm and fun to be around. Very down to earth, very silly. She’s exactly the same now, so, she’s fantastic.
