Jena Malone Gets Emotional Performing The Shoe's "I'm Okay"
Molly Thu, June 26, 2014 We just want to give Jena Malone a hug after watching her emotionally raw performance of The Shoe's 'I'm Okay" with Lem Jay Ignacio for National Post Sessions.
Four minutes into the first recorded performance of I’m Okay, the title track of The Shoe’s debut LP, the actress and singer Jena Malone tilted her head, closed her eyes and let a tear gently stream down the side of her face.
Asked about the emotional moment later, Malone says the spirit simply took her. “Sometimes his instrumentals kill me. It’s a beautiful thing for a song to bring you to a place that’s so authentic you get moved by it.”
