New Photo: Jennifer Lawrence in March 2015 Vanity Fair
A new, gorgeous, and very memorable photo of Jennifer Lawrence has been released along with a short Spotlight article in the March 2015 issue of Vanity Fair. This photo was clearly part of Jen's November 2014 VF cover shoot, but obviously not very well-timed for that feature in which she discussed her personal photo leak.
From Vanity Fair:
One thing about 24-year old Kentucky native Jennifer Lawrence that everyone can agree on is that she's fearless. Her performances radiate confidence - she is a total natural. She received her first Oscar nomination, for best actress, in 2011 with Winter's Bone. Then, in 2013, she won the Oscar for her work in David O. Russel's Silver Linings Playbook - and our hearts as she stumbled up the steps to accept her award.
This month, the long-gestating Serena comes to the screen, based on the 2008 novel by Ron Rash. Danish director Susanne Bier takes on this Depression-era gothic ale about North Carolina timber tycoon, George Pemberton (Bradley Cooper), and his perfectly lovely wife, Serena (Lawrence), who, with her pet eagle and appetite for mayhem, resembles Lady Macbeth more than she does Donna Reed.
This marks Lawrence's third film with Cooper. Both have enjoyed their collaborations with Russell, and, in fact, it is said that Cooper will make an appearance when Lawrence plays Long Island single mom and Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano in the director's Joy, due out this Christmas from Fox. "I wish I could take credit for the roles that I've picked, but, honestly, they've picked me," Lawrence says. "I think that everybody is made to do something, and I was just made to do this"
The Story Behind Jennifer Lawrence’s Snake Photo:
Last July 29, on a Patrick Demarchelier shoot at a private residence in the Hollywood Hills, a giant Colombian red-tailed boa constrictor spent most of the day cooped up in a perforated, extra-large storage container managed by two very capable handlers. When it came time for the snake to take his star turn, there was frightfully little between him and Jennifer Lawrence—only a long metal rod with a hook at the end. The actress proved to be very brave and nonchalant about having a serpent wrapped around her body—an homage to the 1981 Richard Avedon Vogue portrait of Nastassja Kinski that launched a million dorm-room posters—and coolly focused her eyes on the camera. “Jennifer has the perfect combination of strength, sexuality, and humor, and, above all, tomboy to pull this off,” says V.F. fashion and style director Jessica Diehl, who styled the shoot.
Lawrence only became uncomfortable when the snake took a fancy to her neck. Then the shoot was over and Mr. Boa went back into his box.
