Jena Malone at the Stand With The Mockingjay Samsung & The Hunger Games Virtual Reality Experience

Jena Malone made an appearance at the Stand With The Mockingjay Samsung & The Hunger Games Virtual Reality Experience launch party in New York city last night. The event was kicks off the Stand With The Mockingjay VR pop-up shop running Oct 9th - 11th from 11-7pm at 353 W. 14th St, at the Pop 14 event space in the meatpacking district.

Visitors will be able to experience the full 6-minute Hunger Games VR experience, which @duvalheather described as:

It's as if you're watching a super short version of the whole THG story without the end end. Flashes through different parts of [The Hunger Games] storyline. You go see Pres Snow in his rose garden. Some cool District 13 scenes. You get a peek at a sweet moment between Katniss & Rue. The seats we were in had vibration and shaking so you legit felt like you were moving.

Jena explains it in a little more detail:

ComingSoon has a detailed overview of The Hunger Games VR Experience here. And VRPill has another take on exactly what you'll be seeing here. DigitalBodies.net also has a great review of the experience here.

According to VRPill, the VR experience will launch for the public on the Samsung Gear VR on Monday, and Android, iOS (Google Cardboard) and Oculus Rift by November 20.

As you can see from the pics (thank to QuarterQuell) the pop-up shop has lots of interactive stations, a lot like the Samsung experience outside Comic Con last year. In addition to checking out the VR experience, you can create your own rebel poster, check out the upcoming Mockingjay app, play around with writing on a virtual notepad, and more. The decor is pretty stellar. Here's a video taking you through all of the stations:

You can make your own rebel poster at one of the stations.

Who else wants a Mockingjay graffiti-sprayed rose wall in their house?? Somehow, I don't think my husband will go for it..

Stunning New 'Mockingjay Part 2' Poster

There's a gorgeous new Mockingjay Part 2 IMAX poster today thanks to WIRED. From WIRED.com:

The latest poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 is both an in-world propaganda image for Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her rebellion against the Capitol, and an advertisement for the movie franchise’s final chapter.

It also, through beautiful design, sends some interesting signals for fans of both the film franchise and Suzanne Collins’ book series. The most obvious, of course, is the prevalence of roses, which symbolize the Capitol’s President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The leader of Panem always wears white roses and leaves them as threats for Katniss. He also, as we learned in Mockingjay Part 1, uses them to cover up the fact that he smells like blood from years spent poisoning people.

Blood red is the only other color on this poster besides black and white, and you’ll notice it drips from the petals surrounding Katniss’ eye—the one that she uses to aim her bow and arrow and the one that is trained on Snow. Their final face-off is coming, but as this poster warns, nothing can prepare you for the end.

What do you think of this new poster, tributes?

The 'Mockingjay Part 2' Final Trailer

The Mockingjay Part 2 final trailer is FINALLY here for all to see! We bring you "Welcome To the 76th Hunger Games, " the official final Mockingjay Part 2 trailer.

The final trailer is a slow build into intense action. With a runtime is 1:52, longer than any final trailer we've had for The Hunger Games franchise so far.

This one hits some nice emotional beats and has some great action sequences. The opening shot of Katniss at Finnick and Annie's wedding is really gorgeous and the on-screen visualization of the pods was a big stand-out for me. Francis and his team somehow always visually adapt things just how you want them to be, yet 100 times better. There are quick peeks at almost every character in the film, including Johanna.

My favorite part? Katniss' line hasn't left me since I saw the trailer at Best Buy on Friday. She says it with such emotion in her voice, quaking with anger. I hear it in my head all day, seriously. It's so goose-bump worthy.

Stop killing for him!"

There's not much new footage but more expansions of scenes we've already seen. As I watched it, I was thinking "Wow, they really want us to be surprised in the theater."

It makes me really excited for the movie to open and leaves me wanting to see more. Much more. Like, today!

In addition to the trailer today, Revolution.PN has updated with some new gifs from the final Mockingjay Part 2 trailer. You can see them HERE

The sweetest part of the day was getting the #ThankYouFrancis trending on twitter during the final trailer debut. @FUCKINGEVERLARK on twitter had the idea to try and trend the hashtag today to show appreciation to director Francis Lawrence and we did it!! And Francis even tweeted his thanksso that was fun.

What do you think of the final Mockingjay Part 2 trailer, tributes?
