‘Mockingjay’ Advance Ticket Sales Set 2014 Record

Pat yourselves on the back, tributes. The first day of advance-ticket sales for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 was a record-setter, selling more than any other movie in 2014 so far, according to both Fandango and MovieTickets.com.

As you are well aware, tickets went on sale yesterday, three weeks ahead of the November 21 release. Believe it or not, the previous advance sale record-holder this year for Fandango was Divergent!

MovieTickets.com also reported an advance ticket sales record for 2014 on Mockingjay, also noting that it demolished the first-day advance sales of the huge hit Guardians Of The Galaxy which opened to $93.4M in August.

There's still good reason to buy your tickets early - Fandango is offering a Mockingjay Part 1 sweepstakes entry with the purchase of a ticket on their site, and you'll be automatically entered to win a 2015 Mazda 3. You can get tickets at Fandango HERE.

Ariana Grande on the 'Mockingjay Part 1' Original Soundtrack

Ariana Grande hosted a livestream chat with her fans last night and dropped a BIG bomb about the Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. She says she recorded a song - the as-yet-unamed Track 5, obviously -  written by Lorde and produced by Diplo. The video archive of the chat wasn't up at press time.  Ariana says of the track:

“It’s a very interesting song. It’s very different.”

Lorde commented on twitter about the song recently, saying it wasn't a big secret, it just wasn't done yet.

Jennifer Lawrence Foundation is Hosting an Advance Screening of 'Mockingjay Part 1' Nov 19th in Louisville

There's a special advance screening of Mockingjay Part 1 in Jennifer Lawrence's hometown of Louisville, KY on Wednesday, November 19th. The screening is presented by the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation and the Community Foundation of Louisville and will benefit one of Jennifer's favorite Louisville organizations, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana, an out of school time provider that offers a safe haven for youth. Jennifer won't be able to attend, but they had a similar event last year, and Jen's mom and sister-in-law were at the event.

The special screening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is on Wednesday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Cinemark Tinseltown USA.

You can attend dressed as your favorite Hunger Games character for the chance to be named Best Dressed and win a poster autographed by Jennifer Lawrence.

US Weekly's Mockingjay Part 1 Special Edition

Well, now things are starting to get interesting! US Weekly's Mockingjay Part 1 Special Edition is out on select newsstands. MASSIVE thanks to @jenlawrnce on instagram who first posted the peek at the issue (go give her a follow). Sounds like she found it at a Meijer store. We found ours in Barnes & Noble and it's probably in every drug store and grocery store in the US by now. 

The mag is filled with new stills and tons of  interviews with the cast and crew - the US Weekly Specials are always our favorites! 

The issue includes a few pretty decent *SPOILERS* about Mockingjay Part 2! Read on if you dare, but heed the warning. This is more detail on what we WON'T be seeing in Part 1 than we've heard until now, and gives us even more insight into where they'll be splitting the two films.
