100 Days of Mockingjay Week 4 - Hunger Games Cosplay & More #CCTHG

The Hunger Games obviously isn’t a series about fashion, yet fashion definitely plays a part in the narrative. Consider the role that Katniss’ Mockingjay suit plays in the rebel propaganda, the fact that one of the most beloved characters (Cinna) is a stylist, and another (Effie) is one of the most sartorially original characters ever seen on-screen. The Capitol’s obsession with the ever-changing latest styles and body modification are a reoccuring theme throughout the trilogy, visually illustrating the divide between the districts and The Capitol.

The Hunger Games books and movie franchise provide a rich spectrum of opportunity for the cosplayer, from District 12's spare and vintage looks to the full-on opulence of Capitol Couture. I love all of them but I guess I have to go with Katniss's wedding dress and all of her dresses and costumes from her victory tour!
My favorite costume was Katniss' reaping dress worn in The Hunger Games. It was my favorite costume because I loved that the blue dress she wore was one of her mother's old dresses that she likely wore to one of her own reapings when she was younger. I liked this because it showed how Katniss' mom was maturing and opening up to Katniss since the death of her father. This made me start to see the bond that was forming between the two of them. Also, to top it off, Katniss' mom wound her hair up into a beautiful braid. Katniss is know to have her trademark braid and her mother knew she always wore it in a braid. So she transformed Katniss' favorite hairstyle into something elegant and beautiful. This whole outfit symbolized how close of a family they became through the simplicity of a dress.

I loved her wedding dress post-spin when she lifted her arms and for the first time became the mockingjay thanks to Cinna. RIP :'(
For me it is quite challenging to choose a favorite outfit because I must give credit to the designers, they are all beautiful!!My favorite outfit of Katniss is the wedding dress (that eventually turned into a Mockingjay outfit which I love as well) that she wore in Catching Fire!!!*And
Katniss' wedding dress when it changed into the mockingjay dress. Because this symbolized that the rebellion was still alive and confident.
Loved the black dress in Catching Fire at the tribute parade. That also literally was on fire!

OMG Thank you SO much for this contest! My favorite costume is the red Mockingjay costume from Mockingjay Part 2, followed closely by the knits Katniss wears in Catching Fire.

I think my favorite costume from the Hunger Games series would be honestly all of the Capitol Couture, it's absolutely gorgeous. It's this mix of Victorian, Regency, Edwardian, and even earlier periods of fashion updated and modernized into this glitzy mix of fantasy and "I could actually see this in a shop". If I had to pick a specific costume, it'd be Effie's butterfly dress. Such a stunning outfit, and I love the concept behind it "Each butterfly was killed, and pinned to her dress like each tribute she watched die and not care about".
I LOVE the epilogue with peeta and Katniss' kids!!!!!

Bruhhhhh i loveedd Katniss's Mockingjay battle outfit in MockingJay Part 1
So hard to chose-the costume design has been amazing. I do love the Squad 451 costumes though-especially the bug shells. Gale and Finnick don't hurt the cause either looking like they do!
